Yes they will find everything and anything. So be honest in your application and you'll probably be okay

Yes. I have an arrest on my record and disclosed it and was given a permit.

They can't really give you too much grief about arrests.....it is convictions that really matter.

LOL, I had the same situation. When I told my Interviewer she laughed and said "They used to put people in jail for that?"

Be honest, they won't care about that. They are looking for major disqualifiers.

List it, list everything you remember. It is going to help you not hurt you; that old arrest wont matter but conveniently forgetting might.

Yes, disclose your arrest. They already know all about it. If you attempt to hide that fact, you will be immediately rejected.

Times have changed. Now certain people get pulled over and they've never had a license and they just get a ticket. Of course the State of California has fixed this problem. Any body can get a drivers license in 32 different languages.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

Yes you need to disclose it, because the question is have you EVER been arrested.

But it's unlikely to pose a problem. I had an arrest (drunk in public) from when I was 19, 13 years earlier - the interviewing officer just laughed and said "it happens" and approved my permit.

And yes, the officer already knew about the arrest before I disclosed it to him. He asked me to tell him about it before he even looked at my application where I had disclosed it. When I handed him the application and he saw it listed on there in full detail, he was obviously happy that I was being truthful about everything. If that section of the application had been blank I would have surely been rejected, and probably never able to apply for one again.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Yeah, they took the sodomy law off the books some time ago.

My record in my 20's was littered with stuff Jerry, there was no way I could remember it all so I just gave it my best shot... I provided a list detailed with everything to the best of my recollection. The detective laughed and noticed I haven't even had a moving violation in 25 years. As others mentioned, it's about integrity and honesty and not about minor sins from the 70's. You'll be fine.

If you're clear of felonies and other bad things like domestic violence arrests and such, and you've got a good record for the last 10 years or so you'll be fine.

Chances are the interviewer doesn't have such a spotless record from his youth, either. They know kids will be kids, they just want to make sure you're not a kid anymore.
