    Concealed Chest holster/ kit bag

You guys think it's pretty obvious a person is packing if wearing this chest kit bag while hiking in the wilderness? When I'm backpacking my hip is taken up by my hip straps so this seems the way to go. I'm suprised not many companies have such a chest rig. Let me know what you guys think.

I had a hillpeople gear kit bag before I carried because it was a lot easier to keep commonly accessed stuff in front on me rather than digging around in pockets or pulling off my pack. Not a lot of people even mentioned it and those who did asked who made the bag because they were looking for a place to put snacks/tools/maps. It really doesn't scream "gun" unless you know what it is from personal experience. The portion of the bag that actually stores the gun make it so there is little to no printing and the pocket (or pockets, depending on the version) in front is incredibly handy and has the added bonus that it makes it look like the whole thing is a place to carry a knife, snacks, light, map, whatever you want on hand rather than a gun bag. It looks even less suspicious if you can match the color to whatever your backpack is, it kind of looks like it all goes together.

Thanks. Good to read. I just received mine earlier yesterday. Once I tried it on I just wondered if it was too obvious. Needed an someone to explain their experience like your's. Gotta say it's very high quality. As mentioned in my OP, I'm suprised theirs hardly any others options similar from other brands. I saw just one other similar product but it was nowhere near as nice as Hill People Gear. I got the runner's model which is a perfect size for my build. Price was really up there. Couldn't help myself from splurging.

I think drawing from the chest is very quick. 1 second or less. It protects the weapon being in a position no one can get to without pretty much knocking you out. It's like carrying a football.

That being said for over a year I've carried my EDC under my shirt via a Golds Gym $5 walmart special waist belt worn at chest level almost everyday. The 25 oz. snub is in a leather holster between a t-shirt and the waist band worn at chest level with an outer shirt over, either button or T. No one has ever noticed, can be drawn by either hand.

I'm just recently on my 2nd $5 rig after a year of use. Started to get splitting near a velcro seam.

The small kydex trigger guard holster is a good investment too, what are you planning to carry in it?

Most backpack hip belts would interfere with a fanny pack. I think the chest rig is a better option for what he is looking for.

going to utilize that vertical velcro strip in the gun compartment with this velcro loop strap that's just big enough to insert my typical IWB kydex holster (mates with my G 30S). The kydex holster would then just clip onto the velcro loop and be positioned for a right hand cross draw. I'll post up pics once I got it set up.

This is what I have. http://www.activeprogear.com/jogger_holster.html
put it on first and then the 85 liter backpack and you are good to go. Holds my phone, map, compass, extra mag or 3, chap stick and any other small item.

That's the only other concealed chest rig I was able to find online. Way too wide for me at 13".

Reecek posted a link to a similar version that he has and its about 50 bucks. Doesn't look as nice and we'll built as the Hillpeople brand though.
