    Conditional approval?

    What exactly does this mean?

Your Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) application has been conditionally approved for further processing.

Standard stuff or is my app subject to special conditions?
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000.
The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

Have you completed your training and provided the completion certificate to your approving agency? If not, then that's what they're waiting for.

If all your paperwork is complete then they are probably waiting for a signature from the person in charge of issuing permits.

No...joined Frontsight but they stopped holding CCW courses (apparently due to the summer heat) but the notice I received from the CCW staff was asking about my Livescan (which I completed). No mention of the CCW course cert. I take that next week.

It means you're approved pending the completion of your training and/or LiveScan. After they receive those you'll be scheduled to come in and pick up your card.

          Yep ^

Don't stress it. It just means that they can't say you're "approved" because they don't have your livescan and/or training cert. They're legally not allowed to issue a final approval before then. So they're just letting you know that all is well, and you'll have an approval as long as you turn in a training cert and your livescan doesn't have any surprises.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

From what I understand, your 'reason' for carrying has been officially approved, proceed with training and Livescan, if you have not done so already.

Also note that livescan typically takes over 2 months (in some cases up to 6) from the time you submit the prints to the time the IA receives the results. So just because you did the livescan already doesn't necessarily mean the office has the results in hand yet.
