    weapon modifications

    What and how many modifications could you do to your carry pistol (cerakote, trigger, sights, etc.) and still be within the "legal" limits so you wouldn't be hassled in court if you had to use your weapon.

    There are no 'legal limits'.

    Your issuing agency may have an opinion on appropriate modifications.

    Should a shooting occur and be investigated, lawyers may, or may not, question many things - you get to decide how much risk you might wish to accept on the point.

    Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

        So trigger mods and cerakote wouldn't be considered "looking for trouble" in the eyes of a judge?

          That's not for the judge to decide. A lawyer could try to argue that in court and it would be up to the jury to decide. However if it's a good shoot you should never be charged with a crime.

            In the eyes of he law, no modifications, means none. (Ceracoat excluded) you can proceed at your own risk, but coming here to validate your notion of what's ok, is kinda pointless.

              In the eyes of the law, there is no such thing as "no modifications" when it comes to state laws regarding CCW or self defense. So, legally, "no modifications" doesn't legally mean anything.

                No place for this to go, so closed.

                To summarize:
                * nothing in Penal Code
                * lawyers may choose to argue about anything
                * juries may believe or not
