Almost every company in corporate America has no weapons clauses in their employee handbook. Your best bet to CCW at work is don't ask don't tell (aka "concealed means concealed ") or a small business run by a pro gun owner.
This hits the nail on the head.

If you were printing enough for somebody to notice, then you were doing it wrong. I have a buddy who is too casual about printing (IMO) and I have expressed my concern to him. He doesn't worry about it too much.....but he should. This is CA. People here are nutty beyond belief.

Companies are not reasonable beings that you can have a nice discussion with. Your boss may be, but she is hamstrung by her bosses.

Tell NO ONE you carry, folks. There is no need to.

How dangerous is any workplace. It isn't dangerous until the active shooter starts killing people.

Just Google "Workplace shootings" and you will find that you can get killed working in a McDonald's or in a Fortune 500 Office.

Wait until they inform you that you can't even have your LTC weapon in your car if it is parked on company property.

BTW, you should collect up every pair of scissors, letter openers, and all forks and knives from the kitchen/break area since those are weapons. Fedex them anonymously to the CEO.

This. So its not against the law, just against policy. I assume if you get caught you get fired. I assume you bring a bag into work everyday and you're not searched - how would anyone know if there was something else in there? I may have some concerns about leaving the bag unattended, but there are work arounds to every problem.

My company doesn't allow any weapons of any type, not even knives (but apparently its ok for me to have 6" scissors???). How many people do you think are walking around here with a pocket knife?

Put yourself before your company. If the job is that important, leave your CCW in the car, otherwise find a way to bring it in with you.

Probably already covered. The memo probably said premisis which would cover every thing behind the sidewalk.

Well it seems that you need to do everything possible to let your current boss become the CEO. Even if she carries a glock.

It's not about anti gun that some companies prohibit carry at work. It's more about insurance cost.

My company has never allowed carrying at work.
They have it in the company handbook.
They wouldn't even allow it on company property and they own most of the city of Newport Beach.
I am not even supposed to have my carry gun in my truck.

Violation of this new policy is grounds for termination. She put a piece of paper in front of me to sign stating that I understand the new policy. She then asked if I needed to go to my SUV to drop anything off before I sign. She knows I carry.

Well, that sucks, I just got my ccw 3 months ago and now I can't carry at work.
Feel free to point your management to this article that I wrote on PoliceOne about a life saved by an employee carrying at work. It was an off-duty reserve, but this one was a doctor at a hospital.

I think there was a case involving Google employees and won. The right to keep their firearms in their cars in the parking lot.

Wow, what a coincidence, we just had a meeting to go over the new security initiative.
All entrances to our building will now be locked and pass keys will be assigned. The parking lot will be walled in and the pass keys will be needed to gain entrance. Here's the kicker, office doors will be replaced with bullet resistant doors and if there's a shooter, employees will go into the offices and barricade themselves till help arrives. Luckily, I have one of the offices that will get the new doors.

I'm shocked that someone at corp actually put some thought into this...
