US DOJ - Civil Rights Division Seeking CCW Applicants to Interview

    Hi All,

I submitted my CCW application to LASD June of this year and was given an interview date a little over a year from my application date. Although the time is not out of the ordinary for LA county, I was still dissatisfied with the wait, so I emailed the Civil Rights Division of the US DOJ.

Yesterday (3 months later) I get an email from a Trial Attorney with the DOJ who wanted to interview me about the application process in LA. We ended up having about a 20-30 minute call yesterday afternoon, and one of the questions he asked is if I knew anyone else who was interviewing for a CCW at this time so they can gather more information.

If anyone would like to provide the DOJ with information regarding LA County's extensive wait times, or any other concerns they have regarding the application process their trial attorneys are looking to speak to you.

Please email Community.2ndAmendmentCA@usdoj.gov with your concerns and have a little patience for them to reach back out to you.

I am hoping with enough information, a case can be brought to LA County to persuade them that the timelines we are facing to exercise our constitutional right is not compliant with the law.

    Thank you!

Every single one of you in the queue with LASD should be contacting the DOJ.

    EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. YOU.
