Stockton CCW

Unfortunately it looks like I will be moving to Stockton. Is there any difference between applying to the city or to the county? About how long does the process take? My current CCW took a little over a year to issue, I'd prefer not to wait that long again.

KW Defense in Stockton was nice enough to direct me to the Sheriff rather than the city for my application.

Turns out both the city and the county required starting from zero on the permit. Decided it wasn't worth it as I am moving out of state as soon as I can find a job.
