Alhambra CCW

Hello Fellow Calgunners,

Seeing there are no threads regarding CCW in Alhambra, I thought I'd share my current process.
Alhambra, like many cities now, utilizes a separate private entity to do all the leg work, MyCCW.US.
Let's look at the hefty cost as well...

All in all, very happy with customer service from MyCCW team, and application seems to be moving along extremely smoothly. Currently sitting at 60% completion according the MPA Flow, with only the Psychological and Qualification portion left on the list.

Timeline as follows:

June 16th - Applied Initial Application $398
June 17th - Uploaded documents, proof of residency, utilities, as well as 3 references
June 18th - Scheduled initial interview
June 19th - Live Scan $113
June 25th - Initial Interview done
June 27th - Scheduled Psychological test part 1 for July 10th ($400)
July 10th - 350 question assessment with a proctor on Zoom
July 11th - In-person oral interview with Psychologist
July 12th - Updated and passed Psych
July 23rd - Fingerprint results updated
July 27th - Completed 16 hours and completed firearms qualification with Medic Up Consulting

The prices are extreme... I suppose this is their way of weeding people out by putting a pay wall to even apply.

$400~ for qualifications
$144.57 for Administrations
$93 for Department for the card

As for the Psychological portion, it is conducted through Zoom for the test part, and in-person oral interview will be scheduled post-completion of this test in San Bernardino

Buddy in West Covina applied through LASD in July 2021, is BARELY about to pick up his CCW permit.

Updating more on the timeline above

I have scheduled the CCW course with Medic Up Consulting on the 20th and 21st
Fingerprint has completed with CA/FBI/Firearms on 06/21 but I guess my local PD has not yet gotten the results, so still awaiting on that section to clear on MPA.
