They are still processing applications, but with the latest lockdown order they aren't taking live scan appointments

Is the latest update on the Sheriff's webpage accurate in that the CCW team is still processing new CCW applications? Anyone have a rough estimate of how long it takes for a new application to be assigned to a processor right now? Either way I know I'm in for a long wait haha.

    Stay safe all!

I used crosshairs training in Santa Rosa. Granted I took his class before the word got out that permits were being issued I like Dennis. Good class

I second the recommendation for Cody. Not cheap, but excellent training and a great guy. Personalized training meant doing a lot of shooting, which was great. Shooting on the move, from cover, and shooting up close from retention were all covered along with CCW basics/legal info.

Do be aware that you'll need to get lead-free ammo for his range. I was able to get some from Load-Ex in Santa Rosa earlier in the year, but who knows what the situation is now.

Just trying to line up options.
Cody is expensive by comparison, but you get the benefit of very personalized training. You'll be by yourself, or have one other person. No more than that. Makes for a great range day of shooting working many different scenarios with instruction.

I used Showket Training out of Richmond/Novato. $300. One full day. Very good. Would recommend.

It goes without saying that 2020 has totally sucked. I have to renew my NV in March in time for July expiration. Hopefully I won't get burned like I've been in CA.

I hardly was able to stand waiting 90 days for my permit process

I'm really glad you were able to get yours. This has been nuts trying to get my permit. I've been carrying for years in two other states and now that I'm finally able to carry in my home state I'm burned yet again by another Newsome shutdown. Who knows how long this time. Could be months.

Very good sir and thanks for sharing. I can only hope they go through the applications by the initial apply date... one year to get a permit seems a bit excessive.

How long did it take between those two events?
I first applied end of December 2019. I completed everything and all turned in on 11-23-20 (massive delays due to covid and wildfires, classes delayed). I'm hoping to have permit in hand by the one year mark.
