Mine was pretty much a month on the dot, around May time-frame I believe.

All I can say is do things as they are requested. Training certificates are only good for 30-60 days, so if you do it too early, it won't be good.

    Congrats!! Why the extra $300?

For those who have received your CCW renewal, what is the average wait time?
    I submitted mine last week.

    Thanks

For anyone wondering, this is the shooting qualification for Sonoma:

5 shots @ 10 yards in 12 seconds with both hands
5 shots @ 7 yards in 12 seconds with both hands
5 shots @ 5 yards in 10 seconds with both hands
5 shots @ 5 yards in 12 seconds with strong hand
5 shots @ 3 yards in 7 seconds with both hands
5 shots @ 1.5 yards in 5 seconds from retention with strong hand

All 30 shots must hit the target (no misses), 22/30 must be within USPSA target zone A-C torso only, no headshots. The top limit of the C zone is the top of the A torso zone.

Mine were all typed with a letterhead on top of some sort and then printed and signed by them. I just had to take a picture and uploaded them to the site. And then at my appointment I believe I handed her the originals.

For the three character reference letters, what's the content they're looking for?

Can I just make template letters and have the references sign their names? Or do they have to hand write it?

SoCo says, "please supply three original and individual letters of character reference attesting to your fitness as a CCW holder, as required by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. PLEASE NOTE: A relative or co-inhabitant cannot write a reference letter on your behalf. Letters must be half a page in length, must include contact information, date and a wet signatures."

I'm assuming they just want PDFs uploaded?

You do not mention liberalized issuing of CCWs as something being used against Essick. That is very significant.

If anyone comes across any news articles about the Sonoma Co sheriffs race, please post at least a link here. This will help even if it does not discuss CCWs. Why? Because that will show that Essick’s liberalizing of GC and issuing more permits is not controversial even in that Dem stronghold.

I recommend making sure all ranges and gun shops know Essick is readily issuing so that they can tell their customers/voters. Also tell your nearest USPSA/IPSC and IDPA clubs too.
