It was a woman deputy who called me, not the interviewing deputy, who specifically told me that I would only hear again from him if there were still questions or documents needed for my GC...otherwise, I'd be hearing from a different person if approved to proceed to the next step.

At what point are people getting denied?
If you did your interview and told proceed with Livescan, it seems you're in the clear assuming there's no other issue. Am I right?Comment

My interviewing deputy summarized the 3 possible outcomes for me after the interview and given the livescan form:
1. CCW Unit head has more questions or needs more documentation to substantiate my GC, before making final decision.
2. Livescan clears and CCW Unit head approves GC and I am told to proceed to training.
3. CCW Unit head does not approve GC, and I will be mailed a denial letter.
While it is a positive sign if the interviewing deputy thinks your GC is good enough, for you to proceed with livescan, they are not the final authority in approving your GC. Even my deputy cautioned some traffic tickets I got could hurt my chances regarding my permit being approved, but still encouraged me to get the livescan done.

It was specifically a fix-it ticket that I forgot to take care of, that resulted in suspension of my license in 2016. He said they're looking for folks who stay on top of things and not let legal matters lapse like that.
He didn't seem to be bothered by the other 2 tickets (running a red light camera & not completing right turn in the right lane) in 2019, once I explained the circumstances.
Imho, I think as long as it's not a DUI or similar reckless driving, you should be ok.

Since we are getting more new posters let me remind you to create a signature block with your timeline and GC color as you see the long term contributors (the regulars) have done. Here are the instructions:
In the upper left corner click on User CP.
In the next screen see the Settings and Options in the left hand menu, find and select Edit Signature below it.
Type your timeline and GC in and save it. Then your timeline will automatically show up whenever you post a comment. You can also go back to Edit Signature as the timeline evolves such as when you get “the call” for interview, live scan, training or pick-up.
This helps everyone else remember your story and puts your story in context.4/19/21 applied, 8/31 Whittier interview.
