That's unfortunate. Hopefully you get some good news from the SO. Maybe they will look into it and contact the DOJ on your behalf? I'm sure the SO has phone numbers to reach actual people at the DOJ.

Or maybe I'm just being too optimistic.

Picked up my permit this morning, in and out in less than 10 minutes. I'm assuming is was Valdez I met with and she was very easy-going throughout the short process. Thanked her for her patience with what I'm sure is a lot of new paperwork. She mentioned she's trying to go through everything as fast as possible but sometimes it takes a little bit to catch up with emailed questions.

Applied the first day of the Bruen decision, could have received my permit a few weeks earlier but I delayed my classes and pick up date.

It's not a requirement from the County of San Mateo. We always tell students to carry the gun the way they're going to carry it. IWB, OWB, etc. and with the clothing they're going to wear.

Interesting, I’ve never had to use or seen anyone use a cover garment during San Mateo qualifications. My last renewal was first week of August and aside from one AIWB rig, everyone within eyeshot wore uncovered owb. Maybe process adjusted with outside vendors.

I wonder if it is requirement or just vendor adjusting program for added value and additional in person training?
Yeah, that was jsut what we were told in my class. There seem to be some differences among different vendors, and info posted on htis thread from memebers who qualified with sherrif's deputies said concelament wasn't required.

It was actually good practice and there was some training in drawing from concealment, not something you can do at most ranges.

I checked with another student who took the 11/19 class with you. They emailed Jennifer that day, received a reply back on 11/23 and will pick up their permit on 11/29. I hope that info helps.

Picked up my permit this past Wednesday 11/23/22. I did the ccw qualification with Saber Tactics and went very smoothly. Would definitely recommend Nick and staff. Looking forward to more civilian classes he does in the future.

    I applied on 6/27/22. Approved on 11/12/22.

You have to have the class done and certs turned into her within 90 days of them approving. I got my approval phone call/email and got into a class as soon as I could which I believe was 5 days after approval. I emailed her and told her I completed the class on a Friday. She got back into the office the following Monday and got a hold me. That same day I was walking out with my permit.

As far as I can tell she's really the only one, or at least the one handling the majority of this process. She's doing a pretty darn good job. Imagine if they hired even 2 more people to help her out.

And yes, I think we should all send her cards and chocolates, she has been very helpful.
I saw on her email signature she only works Tues-Fridays. So for me getting contacted on Monday was not a concern. Also, there is a chance she works this Friday if she doesn't take a PTO day. I don't think it's a gov holiday. So some more people may get processed. From my count, there were 20 people from Saber on Saturday, 12 from Gun Kraft Saturday and 11 from Gun Kraft on Sunday (1 guy from Alameda county took the class thinking the class would apply to the training requirements of Alameda county).

I also emailed Jennifer my certificate right as we were handed out our certs by Saber. I was second to receive my cert and took a pic and sent her an email while people were still getting theirs handed out. So, I gather that she is process them as FIFO. I got contacted at 9:11am and picked mine up at 10:30am, Tuesday.

TIP: for others in the future if you want your permit issued most quickly after the class is to send in your cert ASAP once you receive the cert in hand.
