The interview is optional and only needed if they have a question about your application or background.

My livescan completed in full. They emailed me about a firearm serial number, which had a typo. No interview.

The Teams meeting is as you said. To answer SandHill, the question they had for me was to clarify why my ID was ran after an interaction I had with LEO almost 2 decades ago. It was listed as Suspicious Occupied Vehicle, according to Interviewer. I explained as best I could, because it was a forgettable interaction. In the end, he said that explains why it just shows up as an "Incident" and nothing else. Interviewer said that was all the interview was for and that was it. Just one question.

On my application, I did list I was in a car collision (not at fault), but that was never brought up during the interview.

I was nit asked why I was applying, or anything else about my application.

To help prepare for the interview, I asked a friend in another county for tips for CCW interview and best thing he told me was to have an answer for anything you think they will bring up. And more likely if they ask something specific, they may have an answer already, but want to see if you're lying about it.

Not sure if my answers help, this is obviously all new to me. I want to thank everyone else who has posted on here since the Bruen ruling. Information and tips I found were helpful.

If that was the extent of the interview, it makes me wonder if the sheriff's office will even bother interviewing those that have no incidents at all on their record. It seems the interview is to simply clarify things that show up on the record and nothing else. No record, nothing to clarify.

Basically like mentioned before if you have past misdemeanors as long it wasn't violent and/or a lot of years have past I wouldn't worry about it. Their basically want to see if you have anger problems, habitual run in with the law, drunk driving, drug use, etc that would bring your moral character into question.

Can I ask a couple of follow up questions? (1) What did you do after clearing LiveScan to get your interview? Did you call them? Email them? I think a lot of us have cleared LiveScan but not sure what to do next. (2) You mentioned they asked you one question. if it is not sensitive, can you tell us what that was? Or at least generally? If it was something on your record they wanted clarified, don't need to say what it was, just a general category maybe? Or if it was something that would be applicable to all applicants, like, "why are you applying?" That would be very useful infomration to many people.

    Thanks!

It would make more sense to have the training/qualifications after approval. It would be a waste of time and resources to conduct the course just for the applicant to get denied.

It doesn't seem as though he is intentionally hindering the process, but he isn't necessarily prioritizing it either.

Corpus's CCW policy will not become reality post-Bruen. I advised her of that in my email exchange with her last year during her campaign, so she should be fully aware of that. And light of the both the event center PPE wastage and batmobile debacles, it would be wise not to waste additional county resources to delay the inevitable.
