Just got my approval notification today!

Applied: July 13th, 2022
Approval: Dec 13th, 2022

Just made final payment, called the so and am getting an email list of approved vendors. GunKraft, expect me to reach out soon!

You know, I always imagined that the day something like this happened (IF it ever happened), the authorities would be kicking and screaming every last step of the way, "losing" applications, failing people on technicalities..

But the SMC sherrifs have all been extremely polite, courteous, and professional throughout the entire process so far. Big thank you and appreciation to everyone here and the SO for a monumental moment in our state!

The story and its angle stink of some pissed off insider in the Esso letting loose the dogs- since Bolanos has about 15 minutes left.

What does esso mean? I can't find that acronym listed anywhere on calguns for google search. Only reference to the oil/gas company.

I've seen it a few times in other threads, too, and it is not in the abbreviations thread.

Just finished our third weekend (six classes total) of San Mateo CCW classes. Our next class at San Leandro will be Saturday January 14th. These are reviews students left on Yelp after taking the class:

• I recently had the opportunity to take a class with Robin and I was very impressed with the entire program. He has a passion for what he does and it truly shows in his instruction whether it is in the classroom, or on the shooting range.
• Robin is very professional AND patient.
  A person with a wealth of knowledge, wish the class was longer since I had so many questions
• Robin at Gun Kraft presented a very informative and engaging experience for our firearms class. He knows his stuff and is very informative.
  I'm glad that I chose Gun Kraft for my training as Robin articulates very well, was patient which all the attendee's of our class, and provided hands-on support when needed.
  When you observe his actions, you can clearly see he IS a professional and his movements are clearly show his experience and knowledge.
  I would 100% recommend Gun Kraft for firearms training anytime.
• I highly recommend Robin Yang from San Leandro Rifle and Gun range. Robin is a great instructor with a few decades of experience (Sorry Robin on aging you). He provided great insight into how to improve our shooting skills and be better marksmen/women.
• The CCW class was immensely engaging and a wealth of knowledge. It cover more aspects than I could even fathom. Highly recommended!

All vendors are approved by SMSO but it's up to each to decide what material they consider important to teach. So course content will vary. I understand after the long approval process people want to get their training and permit as soon as they can but consider the training you will receive as well. Look at course descriptions to compare content or, if the information is lacking call them up and ask questions. It's your money so you want to get the best value and training. I wouldn't stress too much about that article. Because of Bruen, I don't think any Sheriff is going to go backwards on the issuing of permits. We know some haven't changed their stances, but we highly doubt the SMSO is going to go backwards on their issuance. Of course, time will tell.

Bolanos Pay to Play?

There was an extensive story on ABC7 tonight accusing sheriff Bolanos of pay to play in issuing CCW’s and promotions: https://abc7news.com/gun-permits-san...nors/12547330/

I know Bolanos is a short-timer now, but all this attention is likely to make the incoming sheriff wary of issuing CCW’s. Better get it while you can, guys!
