That's awesome. Hopefully his position on CCW hasn't changed since the last time he ran. I guess we will see in the near future.

Time for a new, younger sheriff who rose through the ranks when nationwide CCWing was common. There’s no reason for us to support Bolanos when he won’t readily issue CCWs by liberalizing acceptable Good Cause.

I reached out to Corpus and will post an update if/when I get a response.

It appears that Melville had a campaign website and was pretty active on social media last time. I will BOLO. Hopefully he will have all that set up in the near future.

See interview audio , starts at 11m:20s. Pro CCW-ish? But vaguely supports more restrictions on "asssualts weapons" because "bad guys cant have more fire power than law enforcement officers on the street". Pretty sure LEO run semi-auto ARs w 30 rnd magazines. fair fight. but whatever.

    audio clip:

LAW ABIDING SAN MATEO COUNTY RESIDENTS WANT THEIR CCW PERMITS, DAMMIT!

I think voting for him is a better option than current Sheriff Carlos Bolanos, on the CCW issue at least..

screen shots from Mark Melville candidacy facebook:
This post initiated a month and a half discussion of Melville and CCWs. You can see he came out stronger for CCWs as the election got closer.

Yea, looks like there are two potential challengers to Bolanos in this coming election as of now.

First is Christina Corpus, the current SMCSO Chief of Police for the Millbrae Police Bureau. Corpus' campaign website: https://christinacorpus.com/

Second is Mark Melville, who ran for sheriff back in 2018. I was unable to find a campaign website for Melville.
