I just qualified yesterday with a Kimber Ultra CDP II in 45 ACP and an Sig P938. So a definite YES as long as the weapon is registered to you.

Should also mention they made no mention of any prohibited modifications and didn’t check firearms for modifications, etc. my firearms were both stock aside from aftermarket sights on one of them. The gentleman next to me had a Shield with a red dot and Apex trigger. All they did was check the serial number of your firearm to the serial number on the list they were provided to make sure they matched.

In the class and range qualification I took through ACSO I don’t remember them saying 1911’s were prohibited and swore I saw one older gentleman who was there with a 1911. Seemed like most everyone else had a Glock or a Shield for the most part.

The deputy who conducted our range qualification estimated that the private vendors may charge anywhere from $400-$800 just for the safety class/range qualification!

Additionally, they are no longer limiting initial applicants to only one firearm, you can carry two. Adding to that they have removed the 90% qualification requirement if you were going to carry two. Just need 70% to pass on both.

Had our first Alameda trainee come through our class yesterday with these new rules and we were able to have him shoot the qualifier at the end of our class.
