Just email her, you will be glad that you at least have your queue # so you can keep better track on the progress of your application.

I sent this question to Judea, but knowing how long it sometimes takes her to reply, I'm asking the group here. I was issued my permit back in April (2023) after having completed all the training courses, qualifying, paying the fees, etc.

Yesterday I received an automated email from the Permitium system stating that "Your Permit Has Been Issued" and requiring me to 1. submit "a valid CCW safety course certificate to our office within six (6) months of your approval date" and 2. "PAY YOUR FINAL CCW LICENSE FEE".

Logging into the Permitium system (which has never shown that my license has been issued), I'm required to pay $95.

My gut is telling me that this is an error and that they're just catching up on the permitium backlog from the initial applicants. After all, I wouldn't have been issued my permit had I not completed all the requirements. Did anyone else receive this?

I got the same email. I remember her telling me the day I picked up my permit that there would be an automated email through permitium and to ignore it. I didn't think it would take five months to receive it though.

Ditto on the response from Judea. Looks like there was a SW glitch or something, the new one was lacking a bunch of detail and I don?t remember the details from over a year ago. I sent it to Judea thinking it was a scam based on all the ?get your CA CCW in 15 minutes on-line? adds on YouTube and FB before the window closes.

Damn it, I emailed her and got automated reply that she is out on PTO for 2 weeks and won't be back until 9/23. That's one hell of a luck 😂

so how exactly can I check on my status? I see a lot of references to emailing Judea. Where can I find the full email address? What info do they need to check on an application? I applied on 8/2/22. I can still see my info on permitum.

                  Process timing

                  Hi all,
Thought this might be helpful info for those waiting... I submitted my application 7/22/2022 and was in the #800 range. While it took just over a year to get my interview scheduled, it seems things have moved quite quickly since then, with the LiveScan results coming back in just one week.

Ok Judea just replied to me (while on her vacation?). She said I am #901 and currently they are processing 750 - 850. For reference, I applied 8/7/2022.

Google "Judea Alameda County" and you will get the email address. If you have trouble finding it just send me a DM. Don't want to post an email address on a public forum 😊

Understood. Got it by PM yesterday. Emailed yesterday but no reply yet.

I had my interview on 7/12/23 and still have yet to receive an email for livescan.

How long does it take from application until the first step? Is it about 10-12 months? I wonder if things have changed since they changed the order of livescan and interview.

                            Thanks in advance

My wife and I submitted ours in early September of last year. We have not been contacted about any other steps since that time.

Based on processing patterns, (the are currently working on queue numbers 800-900 right now...we are around queue number 1100), I figure it's another four months or so before we hear anything.

What infuriates me is that ACSO has taken in at least $150,000 in non-refundable application fees (probably substantially more at this point), yet they are still slow-rolling the process because of staffing issues.
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

Thank you for confirming. They probably have someone doing it part time or something like it. Unless they get sued they'll likely keep doing this. Interestingly even SF seems to be processing applications faster.
