Applications are submitted in person or by mail. You can request via email to schedule an interview, where you will then submit your application. Alternatively you can drop it off and you will be called for an interview once they get to your application.

Also sent them an email same day & got a reply.

".... once your application is assigned to an investigator, you will be contact to schedule your in person interview"

Do any of ya'll know if they'll call or email me?

        Thanks
I emailed them once on October 15, 2022 asking for an interview for my CCW and I re-sent it on October 18, 2022. The second e-mail was tracked to with a service called "Mail Tracker" to see if they read it, but it doesn't show anyone opened it. The next day, October 19, 2022, I received a phone call from "anonymous" and I picked it up. It was a deputy with the LAPD and scheduled an interview at the LAPD Academy near Dodger Stadium on December 5, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. He told me all the interviews were happening on Mondays, to bring a cashier's check to for $53 made payable to City of Los Angeles, bring a photocopy of my ID, other proof of residency, my application, and livescan.

My buddy emailed them the day after I did and got a canned response saying "you're on the list". I never got that e-mail. Why did I get picked for an interview so quickly? I have no idea

          That’s good news!
          Everyone’s times are random.

I pick up every phone call now, I have ATT so it’s “Spam Risk” & I pick up all the calls. Still stupid spam.

Waiting for the right call from LAPD.

          Good luck!

I'm wondering what happens if you miss their call. I'm just now noticing that I had a missed call from private number on 10/24!

                I'm thinking the same.
I get so many calls from "Spam Likely" "Spam Risk" "Unavailable" "Blocked" "Unrestricted" that I stopped picking up. My line of work requires me to be on the phone, so usually I wait till I see a voicemail.

I just pick up every call now hoping it's to schedule.

However last week I did get an email to confirm my contact information.

I got this email yesterday. My application didn't get attached so I sent it again.

                  Good afternoon,

I do not see your attachment with your application. Also, I ran your address to make sure you are in LAPD jurisdiction. Is 90026 your zip code because that address with zip code is not coming up in our jurisdication.

Called to follow up and was told I'm on the waiting list. That they processing the people in the 300's, that I was in the 800's, would be called sometime in Dec or Jan.

Just dropped off my application in the LAPD HQ. Paid 5 bucks for street parking. Walked over and as soon as you walk in, on the right there is the information desk.

The officer behind the desk tells me “ccw?!” And I reply “how you know?!” And he was one of the coolest guys I have met. We chatted a bit and he says “I think all citizens should have a ccw, that helps us a lot”.

Anyway, he points to a black box next to the desk and says to put it there.

I had all my papers loose so I folders them up and put my phone number at the top of my application.

Once it was done I thanked him and he tells me:
“ I spoke to the detective that handling all the ccw applications and as long as you haven’t gotten arrested in the last 10 years you should get it.”

I thanked him again and was on my way.

                        5 mins max.

On Monday I will send the interview email to see what happens. Will keep you guys posted!

Have there been any reports of a permit being issued (or denied) post-Bruen by LAPD yet? Lots of people seem to have been contacted so far but I can't recall seeing anyone post about finishing the process.

I was arrested 2 years ago, My arrest was reclassified as a "Detention Only" because they F'd up. Police Report under evidence says, NONE. DA/CA wouldn't touch it.

I have out of state permits that were not suspended or revoked and a 34 year state issued license that deems me a person of good moral character.

As I've posted in other threads, you don't require government permission to exercise your enumerated inalienable right.

And a denial for traffic tickets, arrests in no way should limit your ability to exercise a right unless you are convicted of a Felony and become a prohibited person.

IF you can buy a gun you can carry it.

Needless to say a Denial will be litigated promptly in a Federal Court.
