After receiving your CCW, for anyone looking for CCW-specific skills training (not to be confused with the required licensing training), I highly recommend ITTS and their Concealed Carry Tactics course: https://internationaltactical.com/concealedcarry.html

It's an intermediate/advanced level course, you definitely need to have previously attended formal multi-day training before taking it. But it focuses on dynamic scenarios from concealment at both short range and distance, as well as lowlight scenarios. It’s a very good course to improve your skills (and learn what changes you might want to make to your kit) as a lot of us are CCW’ing regularly for the first time. And for those of you who are familiar with ITTS, you know it's one of the most respected firearms schools around.

It’s up at the Angeles range, about 2-3hrs away from SD depending on traffic. They just had one this past weekend (which I attended) but there’s another one in October that I highly recommend.

No longer IA policy to restrict time and place.

I was just issued my permit today for work but my employer does not require permit for work.

Zero restrictions listed on license. Nor did I list a need in good cause for specific time frames to carry.

    I will carry 24/7.

    Same here.

Congrats! Morgan is a fine instructor. I've taken a new courses with him. His range is pretty cool. You'll know what I mean when you get there if you haven't already been.

Interesting. So still running about 5.5 months to first appointment. They wanted utility bills from me too but still required the superfluous step of sending somebody to my house. At least it is nice to see they are removing duplicative effort.

I have a question for the most recent applicants. What is the current wait time between the initial call for an appointment and the first interview. When I called (just before the big surge) it was a few days, it climbed to something like 5 months a few months ago. What is the most current data?

I set appointment over the phone in Mid Sept 2018,

First appointment(no longer in person but over the phone) March 3rd 2019. Second Appointment in person March 5th 2019.

    Approval email April 30th.

No Sherriff personnel left a business card to verify my address. Instead they use current utility bills.

When applying for CCW I copied letter for letter and word for word all arrest record and court dispositions and entered data into my CCW application along with a strong good cause. I also pulled California Driving record prior to applying. That way there was no surprises with driving record or criminal history. Honesty is the key with any driving and criminal history.

    Carry safe and congrats!

I would assume that all prior information will show up in their search.

I would also assume that ANYTHING they ask to be disclosed, that you do not will be an instant denial, probably of the kind that would affect future applications as well. If in doubt, disclose.

It looks to me like both of those items are covered in section 7 item 6, as well as section 2, item 9 and possibly others.
