    @noche,

    I suggest checking as many times per day as you can. It's a luck of the draw. You are basically waiting for someone to cancel an apt or, the Sheriff's office adds staff and opens up a bunch which is what happened in my case.

    There is someone here who has some software that basically does this for you and then you get notified to grab the spot, likely for a fee

    Best of luck

    I carry both because it isn't a big deal. But I just fold the paper up and don't mess with trying to laminate that monster. It only needs to last for two years anyway...unfortunately. But I figure if my wallet goes swimming for some reason, I at least have the card on me and I'll just call my IA and ask them to reissue the paper.

    It's so stupid.

    I, too, carry both. I was asked a couple times during purchases/ppt’s by the ffl for their records when using it as the fsc exemption. I was also told that it qualifies as another government issued ID, giving another to have it.

    Any of you guys carrying the plastic ccw license? Or just the paper? SD Sheriffs FAQ says the paper is the official, but why send both if that’s the case? I heard in OC and Ventura they tell you to carry the plastic?

    Pay for an app to check for you? Sorry but no. Just keep checking.

    They're saying it's taking a month to mail out new licenses......😬

    I can vouch for this. I know someone who used it and got an appt within the next week. Essentially its an app that gets in front when an appt opens up. Good guy to deal with. Reasonable price too...

    Sure feel sorry for folks that have interviews next summer, they can't even get in line yet, and the line isn't getting any shorter.

    Seems like many of the instructors up in North San Diego County (Vista/O'Side) are only a few days out, any recommendations?
    Mclaren Defense in Oceanside. Ask about the 10% discount for being a SDC Sheriffs Honorary Deputies Association member. It don't matter if your a member.

    People have been having good luck pulling in their appointments but you do have to check back frequently.

    The good news is that they seem to be pretty close to the 90 days. Like if they're late, they're late by a week or two as opposed to several months.

    But they definitely have a problem with the backlog and the duration sure seems like it would be a violation of rights. But it will probably take a lawsuit to get them to actually do something about it.
