AR/service rifle match July 28 at Camp Pendleton

Santa Margarita Gun Club will be hosting a XTC high power NRA sanctioned match at Camp Pendleton Saturday - see link.

High Power Rifle Competition refers to a format of competitive rifle shooting, and not a rifle type. Governed by NRA rules, High Power Rifle has four (4) different stages of fire: Slow fire standin…

This is a great oppurtunity to really get to know just how well you can shoot your AR. The course is shot over 200, 300, and 600 yards. The targets are scored after each shot, so no guess work is involved.

You will need to watch a video on how to work the pits, and also you should have a good idea how many inches your bullets drop at 200, 300 and 600 yards, and how to adjust your iron sights accordingly (know your zeros)

Here is a short tutorial on working the pits. Its not that hard...but you do have to do it in a quick time so as to not hold up your shooter.

The range at camp pendleton is one of the best in the nation, so why not come out and give XTC a shot!

You will need 88 rounds of ammo to compete in this event.

    Email me for further information.

    See you there!

    I'm in!

This is the "second to last" XTC match of the year if I read their schedule correctly. From September onward it's "regionals" and whatnot. I don't know what the qualifications are to shoot a "regionals" event, but I doubt I'd make the cut.

The results were posted 20 minutes after the match was done at the range.
