January midrange and pistol match

Saturday's Midrange and Sunday "Action Pistol" started off SMGC's 2021 schedule. Using SMGC's new home, Range 214, we have up to 500yd capabilities along with space for pistol events. The Midrange started off with beautiful weather and almost no wind, only to be sidetracked an hour later by the arrival of two buffaloes on the 300yd line. A couple of one-hour delays as they moved around limited us to two strings of fire.


Sunday's Action Pistol was a great success. Over 30 participants gave several Marines points towards competition medals. Four challenging stations with silhouettes and steel made for a fun day.

Cost is $10 for active military/reserve, $35 for non-club members. Aside from your pistol, you need a holster and mag carriers.
