Do you have any more info on this event. How many rnds, mags will be needed? Also is shooting from a low ready, or holstered?

Sorry about the late response... We shoot 5 stages; 4 are the standard 5-target, 5-string style and the other stage has a 6-plate rack and 10-plate Texas star. A perfect shooter could get through the match with 116 rounds (if my math holds up). Usually a good idea to bring 200 rounds and take some home :-)

Five mags are strongly encouraged, but I've seen people shoot with fewer and have a buddy reload while they shoot.

This is a non-sanctioned, fun match. Our goals are to: 1) be safe; 2) have fun. There are sign up options for pretty much every shooter. We have holstered and non-holstered classifications for centerfire pistols.

It was a great day yesterday with temps at 83 when we started at 8:00 and 93 when we wrapped at 10:30.

Our July 20 match was a scorcher, nudging 90 at the 8:00 am start, but we were ready for it. Canopies were up and ice water was plentiful! Everyone stayed on task, and we sailed through the shooting by 10:00, before the thermometer broke 100. Happy shooters all around.

August was a great match and the temperatures cooperated nicely. Didn't hit 90 until we were done. Should be another good day to shoot steel in the desert Sept 21.

It was frosty for a bit at the January match but then the sun came out and the frost melted from the muzzles

The March match started off pretty chilly but warmed up rapidly when the sun came round the mountain and turned out to be a perfect day. Sunshine, no wind, and the ping of shots hitting plates.

April stayed cool at the start and warmed quickly with a little breeze to keep things moderate. The new bay 4 and 5 configurations were in place with MUCH wider bays. Stage 1 has moved to Stage 4 for the Texas stars. Lots of progress.
