On my list to do this..

For a ' First ' time at something like this
Decades ....... of shooting
And setting up my own steel target course
Do you recommend a .22 pistol ?

.22

.22 ammo is less expensive and makes for a good time. 5 mags helps quite a bit (5 strings of 5 targets per string for most stages) if you have more mags for one pistol over another, that might be a decider.

I 'm looking for a range at least 100+ yards to shoot my rifles.

Bring them along. Range goes out to 300 yds. There is steel out there to hit.

August treated us nice

We had a smaller group on a much nicer day. Early morning cloud cover, cooler temperatures, even a breeze; very nice morning at the range. We were done by 10:00.

Sept - Fall came early

Great day of ringing some steel in the desert. Temperature was around 70 when the match started and stayed very comfortable all morning. If you weren't there you missed out!

October had Donuts

It was a beautiful morning for the Steel Challenge. There were even free donuts and Danish bear claws! If you didn't make it you missed out on seeing how nice the bays are looking thanks to our hard working volunteers.

Tad cool in November

November's match turned out to be a bit cool. Bright sunshine, but a breeze coming down the mountain got brisk when the wind gusted. That seemed to invigorate our participants and we all had a great morning.

February Loved Us

Bit cool at first, but no breeze so MUCH better than last month. The day continued to warm up nicely as we moved through the stages. More folks out to have some fun and some new faces in the group.
