    CMP Sanctioned GSMM Match
    Garand, Springfield, Vintage Military, Modern Military Match

    200-yard 35 shot CMP Course "A"
    Time: Match starting at 8:30am.(arrive at 8:00 am)
    Location: Burbank Rifle and Revolver Club - Castaic, CA


    Current CMP Rules Apply.


    Stage 1. Up to 5 sighting shots and 10 shots for record slow fire, prone position. 15 minute time limit.
    Stage 2. 10 shots rapid fire, prone position (from standing). One ten shot string, 80 second time limit.
    Stage 3. 10 shots slow fire, standing position. 10 minute time limit.

    As-Issued M-1 Garand
    U.S, M1903/A3 Springfield
    Vintage Military Rifle
    U.S. M-1 Carbine
    Accurized M-1 Garand
    Modern Military Rifle
    As-Issued M14 (M1A civilian version)
    .223 AR type rifles (see below)?

    AK's, Steyr AUG's, Sig 556's, H&K 91's, standard M1A's as well as stock AR-15 and M-4 Carbine clones would compete as Modern Military Rifles category.

    2016 CMP rules now include caliber .223 AR type rifles with up to 4.5x optics and weighing up to 8.5 pounds in The Modern Sporting Rifle category A.

    Category A Modern Sporting Rifles must comply with these additional requirements:
    • Rifles based on the M-16 or AR design and manufactured by a USA manufacturer must be used.
    • Total rifle weight, with sights and without sling, may not exceed 8.5 pounds.

    Accurized Service Rifles (M-14/M1A and M-16/AR-15) and NRA/ISU Match Rifles are not eligible to compete. Shooters firing ineligible rifles can qualify for clinic completion certificates but will otherwise be firing for practice only.)

    Scores reporting to CMP
    Official CMP scorecards will be used. Any center-fire high power rifles complying with CMP Rule 6.2 may be used to fire the match.

    Burbank R&R Club M1 Garand rifles will be available for use. Please notify the match director prior to the match if you wish to use a club rifle. Caliber .30-'06 ammo may also be purchased for use in the match.
    All competitors must use shooting glasses and hearing protectors. A shooting coat is recommended. Shooting mats will be provided.

    Match fee is $17.00 for non-members, $7.00 for BRRC members.
    This match fee also covers entry for the afternoon match; Service Pistol, .22 Sporter or Carbine, as scheduled.
    Bring your own safe ammo or club M1 ammo is available. M1 Ammunition cost is about $20.00
    Bring water and a snack. There are no concessions at the range.
    Competitors are required to perform scoring duties and to operate the targets in the pits for each other.

    Eligibility: The match is open to competitors 16 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

        Oh the HUGE MANATEE! Soo many shooters wont even have the dope for their rifle for that, let alone the skill to hit a target at that distance.

                OH Please Gilla....... Dope at 200 with an M1.......Pfft. Start at 10 up shoot 2 shots adjust and then clean it....

                As to what I will be shooting that day, it will be Pew or Pew,Pew...not Pew,Pew,Pew. That is not legal in Ca.

                      So I was asked to "Pimp" this Match......

                      Look beyotch's this is a simple match to work on your skills or show what you have.
                      "Old man" Mark will be there and he is the guy to go after. he told me one time his trick is Trigger finger lube... what ever that is.

                              Couldn't agree more. My first shoot and had a great time and experience even though I had equipment problems. Thanks everyone again for all the help, advice, and questioned answered. Hope to shoot with you guys in the near future.
