    hi all..

well, i've been lurking around here for a couple weeks now. i have made my first purchase on a firearm and plan on starting my gun collection. my first gun is a sig sauer p229r(in .40 caliber), it should be here in a couple days then my 10 day waiting period shall start. what do you guys do during the 10 day wait? i'm planning on having this one as an in home defense so im going to be shopping for a tactical light attachment and maybe a laser...

Welcome, Some shops that have a range let you shoot your own gun while you wait. Just have to pay for ammo other than that just try not to think about it! if you keep on thinking about it 10 days seems like a month

10 day wait on 1st gun?

Day 1: Search net for best price on ammo. Find deal, purchase.
Day 2: Search net for best prices on range gear. Find eyes, ears, mags, bag.
      Days 3-7: Wait patiently.
Day 8: Receive shipment of ammo from BBT. Try to rest the smile muscles.
Day 9: Receive shipment of eyes/ears, mags, bag from BBT. Try to rest the smile muscles.
Day 10: Pick up new gun. Smile all you want.
      Day 10+: Shoot.

Look for a range that will let you rent a pistol. The Range in Fresno rents for $15 all day. You bring your ammo and gun you shoot all day. Have no gun no fear you rent a gun $10.00 + cost of ammo+ Range fee. Pick out a 45 shoot it till the ammo runs dry. Turn it in pick out a new gun, Buy ammo for it and shoot the $10.00 you started with covers any gun you by ammo for.

Welcome to the forum -- just a suggestion... Crimson Trace grips are excellent for home defense. You don't really have to aim, just lay that dot on your target and shoot.

Welcome Lawrence -- I just dawned on me that I'm waiting myself. I get to pick up my 10/22 on Monday.
