I am new to Calguns.net...My reason for joining is to ask some legal questions. I am from a fairly gun friendly state but am considering moving to California someday. My concern is California gun laws. I own an AR-15, AK-47, M1 Carbine, Glock 19 and a couple revolvers. I have a feeling just driving across the state line with my firearms will make me a felon especially since I have a handful or 30 and 40 round magazines to go along with my collection. What are my options? Are my rifles legal or grandfathered in if I get 10 round magazines? Is it best I just keep my guns out of Calif? What are the consequences? I have always tried to abide by the law, get all the permits needed and as well as follow safety rules with my firearms. I do not want to run the risk of facing jail time or being thrown over the hood of a car and handcuffed just for owning and doing the same things I have done legally for over 20 years. I have no criminal record and have never had a problem passing a background check if needed.

Don't do it. Just vacation here.
The weather is great, the gun laws, taxes, regulations, and expenses are oppressive.
