Pretty simple really, I do not know much about firearms. I have spent the past 8 years living in Japan and recently moved back to CA. I am a car nut and have recently become somewhat interested in firearms.

Welcome. Any firearm interest you so far? Do you like military surplus bolt -actions? If so, look-up C&R rifles and get a bunch before 2014.

Welcome. It sounds like a couple basic firearms courses might be what you need. What area are you in? If you're female, there are some Women on Target courses being offered around the state. If not, just find a good instructor near you. If you're in the LA or Ventura County area, shoot me a PM. Maybe we can work something out.

I am in Orange County, I am looking into putting together an AK or AR eventually but for the time being I am hoping to just pick up a flat or two and 80% then piece them together later.

A couple close friends of mine are very into the AK's and AR's so I have been able to pick up some terminology and info from them.

I have been shooting before and I have some ranges not too far from me.

I was not stationed in Japan, just went there on a whim and stayed for quite awhile. Glad to be back in Southern California.
