Hello and AW question....

Hello, I have been a lurker for a while, just reading and keeping up on current info. I have a question that I can't seem to get a firm answer on by searching the past posts.

If I have a legally registered assault weapon that I have DOJ paperwork on from 2000, am I allowed to place a collapsible stock and forward pistol grip on it. It is a Category II Bushmaster XM15. It has no BB. At the time of purchase the Federal AW ban was in effect so it also has no flash hider/ muzzle brake. Can I also replace the upper with a barrel that has one of these attachments?

I'm sorry if this is covered somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it. The flow chart tells me I have a registered AW, but I'm a little unclear what that allows me to do.

Absolutely! Once a registered AW based upon evil features, you can add on all the evil features you want. Just don't run afoul of Federal Law (ie. barrel length etc.)

Thank you very much for the info and the welcomes, hopefully I will be able to participate in the future with some helpful knowledge.

On the same line as the first question, I also have a registered AW HK SP89 pistol. Can I add the vertical foregrip to this because its registered? I know the folding stock is a no go because then it becomes a SBR, and would need NFA paperwork prior to doing that.
