Hi Everyone, I'm an avid fly fisherman, but growing up I hunted pheasants and waterfowl with my dad on private property. My father was born and raised in Wheatland and one of his closest friends a big rice farmer who allowed us to hunt his private duck club and on nearly all his other properties. That was back in the day when we still had good pheasant hunting in the Sacramento Valley.
I came here, because someone suggested these forums as a good place to find my first rifle bigger than a 22LR. I'm 50 years old and would like to start subsistence hunting for pigs at my age, budget and zero experience that might be pipe dream.
