viewing more than 7 posts in a thread HELP!

Ok is there a way to view more than the default first 7 posts in a thread, it's kinda annnoying having to tab through multiple pages. I was wondering if there is a way to view like 50 posts per page. If anyone has the answer to this please help. Yes I've used the search function for the last half hour and nothing, also tried the FAQ. Thanks calgunners.

Click: "User CP" on the bar near the top of the page.
Click: "Edit options" on the panel on the left of the page.
Find the function: "choose number of posts to show per page" in the middle of the page somewhere. Set to 40.
