    Colt CA Compliant AR?

    Hi all,

I am new to Calguns and really appreciate the information and community that are available on this web site.

My question is regarding your flow chart and Colt AR rifles. Colt is advertising CA compliant AR rifles on their website and I have seen several in a local gun shop. I did not purchase and they were sold within the hour. Apparently on the flow chart all Colt AR rifles are illegal so what am I missing?

    Thanks for your input.

Only if its on the list(s)
    Colt: AR-15 (all)
    Colt: Law Enforcement (6920)
    Colt: Match Target (all)
    Colt: Sporter (all)
If if has any of that on the receiver it's banned

    These are not banned
    MODEL LE6920CMP-B,LE6920CA,CR6720CA,CR6724CA,LE6940CA

Guys thanks for the replies, I am still not understanding how the listed models are legal per the flow chart. Per appendix A, it states Colt: AR-15 (all) are banned. What am I missing? Part of the reason that I am trying to understand the nuances of the situation is that the listed models are hard to come by. I potentially have access to similar models, not the CA versions and want to know if they can be brought to CA with BB installed and going through the legal transfer process. Please explain why the Colt AR 15 designation in appendix A can be circumvented.

                    CA Colts

The current guns are NOT AR15's....the models are M4 or LE6920CA, LE6940CA etc...The difference in how they are marked cosmetically on the model on the receiver....almost everything else is the same.

Just go to a reputable store and make the purchase, the Colt's wont last long.

Thanks, in now makes sense. I am assuming then if I purchase an out of state model with bb installed and I have a non listed model on the lower I should be fine?
