Hi There,
I was hoping someone could tell me about a Winchester Model 1890 short .22 caliber? It's a third model with the locking lugs on the side. They are supposed to be serial numbered from 325,251 to as high as 853,000. Except mine has a serial number of 91637 on the lower tang in the old style numbers and also has the number 91637A on the bottom of the receiver at the top end.
So, what I'm really wondering is if this is the lowest number ever found on a third model Winchester 1890? Or what is the likelyhood of this ever happening? And also, what is the real year that it was made? Because, the serial number indicates when only the second model were being made.
Thank You!
