Hi my name is Pat, as the title says im moving to your lovely state. I've been looking at the Gun laws in Cali wiki and I have just one question. Its legal for me to have mags with over a 10 round cap but I cannot trade, lend, give, or sell them so I'm good to bring handguns I already own?

It is illegal to import magazines over 10 round capacity. You can, however, dismantle them into "parts kits" and either block them to 10, or you can keep them dismantled until the next time you leave.Hi my name is Pat, as the title says im moving to your lovely state. If you owned the magazines in california before the ban, you would be able to retain them here and even use the pistol mags.
It is not illegal to own, use, or possess large capacity magazines. It is illegal to manufacture and import them.
I'm sure Librarian will link it but:

In addition, you cannot import large capacity magazines into the state, or manufacture a large capacity magazine from components.Hi my name is Pat, as the title says im moving to your lovely state. Possession of the magazines is legal, you just need a legal avenue to acquire those magazines. If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.Comment

Welcome to California, YOU will lost some of your GUN RIGHTS by coming here. hehehe..
First to lost is your HIGH CAPACITY MAGs... NO MORE THAN 10 Rounds is allowed in California. You need to disassemble your current high cap mags and bring it to california as "PART KIT" and NEVER assemble the kit when you are in California.

Welcome to CA, I just moved here too. You also have 60 days to register your handguns at $19 a piece. I am going to write that off as a moving expense.
