Thank you all for the warm welcome,
I do not have a gun permit and never have yet, mostly shooting range rentals and hanging out with friends who have/own guns. I did inherit a few recently and am aware I need a permit to own one. A USP Compact 9mm and also an old US military issue .45 (WWII Era I think). Now since I am in the El Dorado Hills area can someone point me to a good place to get my Handgun Safety courses and a permit to own? I know I will eventually have to turn these over to a FFL/Dealer and have them transferred into my name and pay some fees. I guess I am learning all the legalities of it now. Tomorrow/today I hope to visit the local gun shop and see what's going on, start with some safety courses. Seems like there are plenty in my area. Anyone in my area have some time to hang out and be my "Experienced" gun buddy?
