HELP - Deceased persons fire arms

HELP. New user and new to gun world. Helping a young lady whose dad passed away. He had ALOT of guns. The estranged wife is trying to get her hands on the guns. She has no idea what was there. How does the daughter sell the guns of her deceased father?

Is the daughter the named beneficiary of the guns in the father's will? Has the will been through probate and most/all distributions made?

The woman in question needs a lawyer to help understand and handle any challenges from the wife.

I am definitely NOT a lawyer, but it seems to me that the estranged wife would have legal right to those guns, unless there is a will specifying otherwise.

I THINK it depends on how long her Dad had them. ( pre registration?) I came into the same situation with a fellow calgunner. i took my chances with him and things came out fine with the DROS. He sold them as the owner. I don't know if 100% legal but it worked for me.

I'm no attorney either but I have been through a divorce years ago.
Were they legally separated? This may or may not have anything to do with it.
I hate to see this kind of thing happen! Guys, keep your affairs in order, you never know.
A friend of the family went through this last year when she lost her father. The step son came in and all the guns disappeared.
