Is the daughter the named beneficiary of the guns in the father's will? Has the will been through probate and most/all distributions made?
The woman in question needs a lawyer to help understand and handle any challenges from the wife.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good! -

I am definitely NOT a lawyer, but it seems to me that the estranged wife would have legal right to those guns, unless there is a will specifying otherwise.Originally posted by shollingSomeone else's lack of foresight and planning is no reason for you to take less than the current market value despite all of the wailing and crying for 2nd Amendment socialism and welfare pricing.Comment

I THINK it depends on how long her Dad had them. ( pre registration?) I came into the same situation with a fellow calgunner. i took my chances with him and things came out fine with the DROS. He sold them as the owner. I don't know if 100% legal but it worked for me.Comment

I'm no attorney either but I have been through a divorce years ago.
Were they legally separated? This may or may not have anything to do with it.
I hate to see this kind of thing happen! Guys, keep your affairs in order, you never know.
