    May be comin' to California...

Hey, looks like one way or the other, I am probably coming to Cali!

Joined, initially, to check out advice on what not to bring with me across the state line.

Will post in the General Discussion.

    Welcome!

Please, please read through the flow charts above, before you ask any questions about what guns you can bring.

Welcome. Folks moving to CA can keep their non approved pistols as long as they do not violate CA AWB laws (threaded barrel, etc.). Non roster handguns are legal to own, the roster only applies to what a CA FFL can sell to the general public; LEOs are exempt and can buy non roster handguns. Non roster handguns can be sold in Private Party Transactions (PPT) or also purchased as Single Shot Exemptions (SSE). http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=383692

Any magazines you own that hold more than 10 rounds must be disassembled before entering the state and cannot be reassembled while in CA (unless common sense returns and that law is overturned.) There are some conversion kits available to make some mags CA compliant by blocking them to hold 10 rounds or less.

Here is all you need to know about magazines: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=387409

You will need to send in a registration form, and check for $19, for each pistol you bring with you; long guns do not require registration until 01/01/14.

Here is a link to the DOJ FAQ, questions 25 & 26 deal with moving to CA: http://oag.ca.gov/firearms/pubfaqs

Here is a link to the handgun registration PDF: http://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/pd.../ab991frm.pdf?

The flowchart link at the top of the page, just under the sponsor links, will tell you if your long guns are, or can be made, CA compliant.

Welcome aboard! Bob hits it outta the park again!
CalGuns Network (CGN) is different from CalGuns Foundation (CGF). Both need our support. I have gold name because I support CGN; plus, I send $10 every two weeks to CGF automatically via online BillPay as described here.

Support CGF by shopping at Amazon!
