Quick question for those more knowledgeable than I

    Hey guys, just registered.

I was honorably discharged from the Army in December and moved out here trying to use my G.I. Bill. I'd like to keep my personal details private.

Anyway, as soon as I got out I had some pretty terrible luck tearing my rotator cuff and then I got a hernia and food poisoning and a bowel obstruction.. plus a ride to the emergency room, so I'm trying to raise some money for my medical bills . Not that you need my life story or anything but I mean, that's why I'm trying to sell this.

I have my IOTV that was a combat loss in Fallujah in '08. ACU pattern. Has everything on it still except my 203 belt and bandoleer. I have two sets of plates, the vest is a SMALL. I have SMALL front/back sapi plates by ArmorWorks and X-LARGE e-sapi plates also by armor works. The X-LARGE's are a little worn but serviceable. I can submit pictures. Has some.. less than useful stuff that I did so girls would dig it.. like a combat hatchet on the back with it's ACU MOLLE gear. Some more useful stuff like an M4 cleaning kit(was like 100 bucks from BlackHawk, got hit the first time I went out with it.), a hard NVG case I bought off some PJ's we were working with, a few pouches for m4 mags, etc.

I modified it a little, took out the side plates which I don't have and reversed the side plate storage areas for comfort. The emergency release is never used, and fully functional. I left in the back part of the collar but we didn't use any of the auxiliary protection stuff, although I might have it lying around somewhere. Has 3 CAT's, Combat Sheers with a North American Rescue leash, two gerbers and an MBITR pouch and a fully equipped medical bag with all the sensitive/perishable items removed.

Anyway, my original estimate was about 3200 bucks with both sets of plates. We were among the first people I knew of that got these back in the day and, like I said, I got hit the first time I traded my old web gear for this. :P It's looks really clean, more than serviceable. I only modified it one way that can't be repaired, and that was to cut/burn out a slit on the right shoulder for a one point sling.

So my questions are: how much is it really worth? Where can I legally sell it?

Thanks a bunch and I'm sorry if this wasn't the correct forums.

    V/R,

    Reed

Thanks. Also, the vest is a small but the plates in it are x-large. Was perfect for me back in the day, I'm 6'1" and usually about 220. Just incase the size is disparaging, I mean. I wore most of my specialty equipment around my waist so it was really perfect, plus it sits up a little higher so it makes pivoting/turning much easier since it is off your pelvis.

        Reed, Welcome to Calguns!

I’m not sure how best to answer your question but i can recommend some places for you to try your question out and better introduce yourself.

I might check out the “Calgunners in Service” thread
        and the
        "Outdoors, Camping and Survival" thread
and they might be better able to give you a reasonable price to ask.
When do you decided to sell it the “Marketplace” should help you get it sold.

Hope things look up and hope you stick around.
