I'm a shodan in Shotokan Karate under Kanazawa Hirokazu, Kancho.

In the next couple weeks I am going to begin training in Judo to compliment my stand up.

The BJJ schools want too much damned money, and they lack the kata training, and the schools in my area at least, lack the ultimate mutual respect of a good, traditional dojo.

I plan on someday transitioning to Jiu Jitsu, but Judo will work well for now.

I just Googled Kanazawa Hirokazu. Very impressive!

Yes, BJJ schools are not cheap. They are in high demand AND I believe they have to pay fees to belong to the IBJJF. Judo has the advantage of being non-profit, so you can train with world-class grapplers for as little as $20/month. I don't like the Gi much and mostly do Nogi (easier transition from my wrestling background).

            Welcome again!
CalGuns Network (CGN) is different from CalGuns Foundation (CGF). Both need our support. I have gold name because I support CGN; plus, I send $10 every two weeks to CGF automatically via online BillPay as described here.

Support CGF by shopping at Amazon!
