    Coming back home!

Hello.. My name is Fabian and I heard about this site from a friend.

I just found out I will be going back to Ca after being gone for soo long. I was excited at first untill I realized that there could be a problem with my firearms when I get there. I have done a brief search but could'nt find anything about being able to take them with me. I know that some of them are not Ca legal. So what can I do (if anything) to be able to take them with me and still be able to enjoy some time at the range in Ca.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the top banner is a tab 'AW & OLL Guide'. That should help identify what particular issues you need to address. Take apart high cap magazines if you didn't own them before the ban. Not sure if you needed to own them AND be a CA resident or not. Some one else can speak to that. But with 10 round mags and some sort of magazine lock (bullet button or radlock) you should be fine if the overall length is good (>30"? I can't remember off the top of my head).

Welcome back, we need your tax dollars.

Well depends on what your bringing in (or wanting to). Mike mentioned some info about AR's. However if you have certain Norinco AK's, or a Taurus Judge, or a SPAS, stuff like that needs to be kept out of the state. Having an idea of what you want to bring in will help determine what/if changes need to be made for legality.

Please check the flow charts first, there is so much info there.
Then ask your questions, we all know CA laws can be confusing.
        Welcome to CalGuns!

Hi Fabian, welcome to Calguns. Magazines that hold over 10 rounds are not allowed, however... taking them apart and bringing them in as rebuild kits is legal, just don't reassemble them unless the CA 10 round limit goes away.

Welcome aboard & back! As others have said, there is not a single easy answer for what to bring back. Ask in the general guns area, with details about what you have (or in each of the subforums).
CalGuns Network (CGN) is different from CalGuns Foundation (CGF). Both need our support. I have gold name because I support CGN; plus, I send $10 every two weeks to CGF automatically via online BillPay as described here.

Support CGF by shopping at Amazon!
