R700 safety failure

I was watching TV last night and there was this program on CBS which was all about the Remington 700 and its safety issues. They say that the firearm can inadvertently go off when switching the safety from safe to the fire position. Has anybody personally had this happen to them? I hunt with two friends who both use rem 700 in .308 and after seeing that show it makes me wonder if i might get blasted by one of those knuckle heads.

If you hunt with people who are muzzling you, you should stop it.
Hunt with people who know how to handle rifles.
