              No.

They're allowed in California for all reasons, not just home defense.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

At least the IP asked about what he didn't know. More people should do that.

I can't remember everything I have to do, but I can remember more things than I have time to do.

In a case involving a home defense shooting using JHP's. It is possible that a prosecuting attorney will make you out to be an insane gun enthusiast with a "blood lust" and a desire to see torn flesh and guts; you must possess an intent to cause unusual harm to those poor misunderstood criminals. Gheez.

Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) for the range. Jacketed Hollow Points (JHP) for home.

Hollow points are legal to own for whatever purpose you want to use them for; I imagine if you wanted to clean your toilet with them, that would be legal too.

The correct answer is...........not illegal, which isn't the same as legal.
