So I've been looking for a while now just signed up. Looking for home and work defense firearms ...... would like to get a cougar 8357 but they say not allowed anymore .......also any way to find out if you can or can't own a gun on the quick side .......

Welcome to CGN. I don't know the cougar 8357. I too have become aware of what they call "off list". Some of CA gun laws can be confusing.

Purchasing hand guns private party, gun show (whatever) is a thing of the past. Registration is an important issue in modern day gun ownership.

Not like "in my day"...we could buy anything (justabout) and have it that day. Ahhh - the good ole days...I remember gas $0.24 a gallon, pack of cigs 25 cents; of course the wages were way down, $1.40 an hour. That's another story.
