I am anticipating buying a 41 magnum double action revolver. I want a good gun that will last a long time, but I don't want to spend a fortune. If you are knowledgeable in this area, I'd like your opinions regarding which guns would be worth looking at. Thank you.

Your options are kind of limited.. I would go with either the S&W 657 or see if Ruger makes a Redhawk in 41 magnum.. Either of those guns will serve you well. The Blackhawk is a single action, but it is another option. If you get them used, you can usually take a few hundred off the top, but since these are kind of rarer guns, you may be paying full price for them. Ammo and components are a bit rarer as well and you'd behoove yourself to handload and/or cast for the caliber if possible.
I always wanted one... but now that I have it.. I have no real use for it.. If I hunted, that could be one use, and long range handgun sillouette would likely be another use... Since I don't really do much of either, it is a gun I bring out now and then to show off but it mostly sits in the safe.. and nope.. I don't want to sell it

I have a Taurus titanium tracker in .41 magnum that I love. Don't see any Taurus .41's on the approved list though. Great gun and great round, but ammo is pricey and hard to find in my area. Usually need to hit the gun show.
Thought I'd add because I get excited any time I see the words 41 magnum together in any sentence.Comment

Sargenv: I have a 30-06 Marlin XL7 rifle which I plan to take boar hunting, and the 41 magnum would be the side arm, in case the pig doesn't go down without a fight.
Bob: Thank you, I will try that.
CoopNation: I have yet to actually go to any stores for this, because I don't have money, so I don't know how easy it is to find in my area, but I look forward to the next time a gun show comes to town.Comment

you need 41 brass, let me know. I don't shoot 41 and I got a bucket of range brass, ended up with 20-50 good pieces. No sweat off my back to send them along to someone in need.Comment
