A few more days in the jail(?) and I'll own my first firearm!

I feel kinda odd using that statement as it seems more a veteran thing and Im a noob. I shot a .22LR semi months back - first ever experience with a firearm.

Dunno what make or model it was but it looked like a tactical-ed-up AR-15. Course I had an awesome time with the fun 0.22LR.

I'm an avid paintballer (Circa 1996) and I swear I've felt more recoil of some of the older markers (VM-68 comes to mind).

Anywho I decided to pick up that M4 styled 0.22LR everyones a buzz about. It was $479ish at Big5. I'm not sure if I got a decent deal or even made a good choice. I dont have a real desire for a tactical styled 0.22LR and I see these Marlins going for ~200ish. They look just as handy and I feel silly with that faux .223 mag. I'm concerned that I may have made an ignorance-based decision.

Of greater concern is reliability and care. I assume the manual will cover it all but I really haven't a clue. I mean some older paintball markers come with a manual that's just a few more paragraphs than "Do not point at face"...

Pretty excited! Thanks for reading and any advice!

Welcome to CGN. Sounds like you are doing the right stuff.

I hope I never see instructions with a firearm that say: Do not point at face. :-\

Well its hard to give feedback when we have no idea what .22 you bought. What make and model is it? Welcome to the forum and the shooting sports.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first purchase.
I would seek help (or not) now since you'll may soon find out how addictive wanting to expand the collection can be.

As for me.. I'm content, just one more thing to get/build (AR 10 / .308)... just waiting for when I can afford it.

Welcome to Calguns, can't go wrong with a .22. No recoil and the ammo is easy on the wallet.
