Soon to be CA resident moving into an over 55 community in Indio. Leaving gun friendly FL for family reasons. I know the summer will be hot only advantage is leaving the house on a hot day in CA I won't be dripping wet. Hot day here minutes after stepping out you have wet sweat dripping down your face. I've endured hurricanes and hot humid here, cold winters snow and ice storms in CT, VT, Chicago land and upstate NY. This will round out my weather experience.
Biggest adventure of the move will be getting our 2 dogs and 2 cats to CA. Wife is 70 I'll be 79 by the time we leave looking for a cost effective way to get there that doesn't kill us.

If you do not have enough ammo on hand, see what you can buy ahead of time.

If there are any new handguns you might want to buy, do that in FL before you go.
We have a "Roster of Safe Handguns" that severely limits what you can get here and makes "off roster" guns very expensive.

If you have any centerfire ARs, we have a lot of "neutering" laws so read up or ask questions here ahead of time.

No magazines that hold more that 10 rounds unless blocked to 10 before you cross the border.

Puppy and kitty pictures are generally required once they are mentioned, but wait until you settle in.

Welcome, I was a lurker myself for a while, have learned a lot.

Good afternoon Calguns!

Been a bit of a lurker since I came here a few years asking for help getting my hands on my first AK style rifle.

Now that I have a bit more disposable income and time, am looking to be a bit more involved in hopes to chat and hangout with like minded folks. With COVID this past year, its definitely been a bit more difficult to go out and talk to people than it was pre-covid.

Shooting on and off for about 8 years. Still suck but still love it and have been able to practice more after graduating and advancing from ramen packs. Would love to participate in some clean ups/shoots.

Looking forward to meeting ya'll.
