Hi,
My name is Janos, am from Hungary originally but am a US citizen now and live with my wife and 10 month old son in California.
I had been shooting for 6 years now but wanted to get a bit more serious about it so figured I look at this site that everybody recommended. I want to become a better shot and perhaps participate at some shooting competitions.
Another thing that got me to look into this site more when a few weeks ago I started to look for a new handgun for competitions, picked one, went to a local gun store where they told me it's illegal here, I had 4 more choices... all illegal now in Cali... practically all good competition handguns are banned here!?
I found the roster online, very limited. Private trade is the only option which are mostly ridiculously overpriced... LOL
I am an NRA member but now I start to feel how limited this state is when it comes to guns.
Anyways I'll do some research here to find a good competition gun and ask my questions as they come up.Comment

Person to person in the Walmart parking lot or similar, no.
Check out our Handguns Marketplace.
Also, you can put up a WTB (Want To Buy) ad in that section.
Please read the Rules first.
Good luck and welcome.Originally posted by Kestryll:

Keep an eye out on the Marketplace, you can find reasonably fair deals for many guns. but it takes time and patience.
Also, do you have any bloodline parents or children that live in a free state?
If yes, they can gift you a gun that is off roster but otherwise CA legal.Originally posted by Kestryll:

Introduction
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Toby and am located in the SFV.
I am not new to shooting, but have recently begun to build my collection. I have taken a few defensive handgun classes and have CCW training. Motorcycle riding has recently become a fun little hobby.
I have really enjoyed calguns.net, but am still learning the ropes. The biggest question I have is about leaving feedback. I have completed two PPTs recently (just waiting my 10 days) and have scheduled another. So far sellers have been great and very helpful, but I want to make sure I can leave feedback once I have final possession of the firearms.
How do I leave feedback?

Aloha sloksig !
You might be able to find a clearer easy to understand answer if you do a search for how to 'leave itrader feedback" but I will try to go over the basics.
To the right side, top and side of every post any member makes you'll see some information about the member like their location, when they've joined and how many post they've made.
Right below that info. you'll see the word
" itrader" and a blue number. Click on that blue number and it should take you to the page where you'll see some information about that members past buying and selling ratings. Somewhere on that page is the "leave itrader rating" for whoever it is.
You click on that and if you've made a deal with that person you follow the instructions, including leaving a link to the page where the deal was made, and bingo you've left them a positive, a neutral or a negative I traitor rating.
Hopefully they remember to leave you and I traded rating and if they don't it's okay to ask them to do it but don't be too pushy because some people either don't want to or they never get around to it, they don't know how or they have something personal against it.
For instance when you see people with itrader ratings I guarantee most of them had many more sales and deals than it's showing.
I hope that helps and welcome aboard.Last edited by sealocan; 06-29-2019, 10:57 PM.Comment

Welcome Toby.
When you copy the URL of the deal be sure to remove the “s” from HTTPS or the i-trader will not recognize the URL.Originally posted by Kestryll:
