Turbinator, I'm in Kern County. We've got a firing range nearby, open on Saturdays, but I've heard that some ranges won't allow ARs, even if you tell them you have a "legal" one. Once I get mine, we'll see. The nearest gun store is in Bakersfield. What am I looking at? Over $500 probably, right? Unless I build it myself?

Hello...
I've been lurking for a while and finally got around to registering.
This site is wealth of information and I plan on visting here often as I have recently contracted a severe case of blackrifle-itis
and need to keep working on a cure.
I just won a CA-legal lower on GunBroker and am looking forward to assembling and configuring my own personal AR
Regards

Hello everyone,
Just found this site. My wife and I just recently purchased our first guns: A Kahr manufactured Auto-Ordnance 1911 for myself (from what I have seen online the quality is much improved from before, with the exception of the front site getting loose on some), and my wife found a nice XD-45 tactical. I have always been a firearms enthusiast and finally decided to start my collection.
We pickup our new guns on Tuesday, and if I can find some ammo by then we will probably be found Wednesday night at the OC Indoor Shooting range in Brea. We live in Chino Hills, so Brea is pretty close, and the couple of times we rented at the Brea range we were really impressed with friendliness of the people who work there.
I already am thinking about my next purchases. I really want a Mosin-Nagant, and with them being fairly cheap..... Interestingly enough right now it seems easier to find the 7.62x54r ammo than .45 ACP... Outside of that I want to aquire a Makarov and a Sig 226 in 357 SIG, and then a good number of impulse buys.

Hello all,
I may have made a few posts before posting here, whoops.
Anyway, my name is Kevin McCluskey. My username 'Plisk' comes from Snake Plissken minus the 2nd 's', if anyone is familiar with him.
I recently turned 18, and I'm a Socal boy (whoop-e....) and am in the market for building my M4. I've got some ideas and I'm sure I'll have a thread up about it soon. But first things first, M4s cost money, living costs money... I'm sure I don't need to explain that to you everyoneYou've all been living it longer than I've been living. So in lou of that, you should find a thread of mine in the job section here.
Anyway, I've been lurking around this site for a while; and I'm very impressed. This is one of those somewhat hidden gems that for some reason no one ever told you about. I love the site, and I'm sure it will be a daily stop for me for a long time to come. It's also a late-night drone for me as well; it's past 4am as I write this! I really need to get some sleep.
Hope to meet more of you on the site in the morning. G'night!

Hello Rex, Sean, Kevin -- I'm new here myself. Looks like a very informative site. Found it via survivalistboards.com, another good site. Kevin, wake up...
Bill, just waking up... geez, hate this daylight savings time -- the extra hour of sunlight always burns my grass...Comment

Welcome. It's good to see this many new members on a daily basis.
What I like about this sight is info and the friendliness towards everyone.
Look forward to meeting some of you when I move back later this month.

Hello,
I'm new here aswell. I'm 25 from Southern California (Fontana, CA). I just purchased my first firearm last sunday at the Glendale Gun show. Picked up a Glock 23 from Ammo Bros. I should have it by the 19th of this month. I bought it primarily for home defense. Before this i use to shoot with my dad with his Ruger 10/22 and his 9mm Smith and Wesson. Aside from firearms I've been airsofting for about 5-6 years. I love the photography, the outdoors, my 2 pitbulls, motorcycles, and cars. I hope to gain more knowledge and more firearms through this site.Last edited by Zion Lion; 03-11-2009, 6:07 PM.Be Kind Adpot a Pitbull..

Hey there,
I recently joined the forum, though I've been lurking for awhile. I'm just getting started on my gun collection -- have a Sig P226R in 9mm and a Desert Eagle in 44 mag -- and am in the middle of building up an OLL. Looking forward to experiencing the Calguns community.Comment
