    Hello,

I just joined. Your site is great! I wish we had all the AK47 building parties up here that you have down there.

    David,

    Welcome aboard!
I'm originally from Issaquah, WA. No need for a build party over there. LOL.
Because WA is a free state : O ). I just visited Wade's gun store in Bellevue and a Gun store in Issaquah last month. And they have all sorts of AK, HKs, and AUGs being sold. No banned by name to deal with!

    Have a great one!

I think there is a need for BPs out of state. Many people don't know how to build on and/or don't want to invest in all the tooling to build just one. I think the ONLY reason that there are BPs in Ca is because of Calguns and us being able to network here.

+1 It's always good to know how to build one. Because the laws in CA are different than other states.
But I've seen nice AK's sold in WA for as low as $390.00 It was so tempting to purchase a couple : O )
No restrictions on mag capacity, no pinned folding stocks.

There are plenty of AK's in the stores, but I wanted to try my hand at building.

I built a Polish underfolder using a pre-built receiver. I pressed the barrel in with my press. That build went well, just had some FCG issues. The Polish FCG seemed to work better than the US FCG, but I can't use the foreign parts.
For my next build, I have a Romanian kit for which I want to build the receiver myself. Flat is bent, I don't have riveting tools and since this will be my last AK build I don't want to purchase riveting jigs and a spot welder. I have a mig welder and I suppose I can plug weld the lower rails if I have to, I'll worry about that after my riveting is finished.
Thank you all for your hospitality, If I make to LA I will look you up.

Sounds good David! At least no mag locks to deal with and pinning stocks to follow. I have built a couple myself.

I'm familiar with some of your laws. I just sold a Tantal kit to someone in CA and I had to disassemble the mags in order to be legally received. We have some crazy laws here too, no full auto weapons & you can own a suppressor but it is illegal to use it!
I wish we could vote in more gun friendly politicians in both of our states, heck may as well throw in Oregon too!

                      Gray Peterson,
I know your work bro. You were one of the key components beating the Seattle gun ban! Good work bro!

                      David,
But one thing great about WA. it's easier to get Tax Stamps, CCW's. Hunting, all you have to get is your license and tags and go.
CA, we have lottery systems which is BS.
                      Free baby ...free

I applied for my ccw in Issaquah PD. Question ask: reason ---sport! And $20.00 that was it and a clean record, got it in a week.
Only thing I'm no longer used to is the rain! I left WA 1994. It will take time getting used to again : O )
I was there in Seattle last month and went for a cruise in Alaska. It was rainy and cold in Seattle and was sunny and hot in Alaska. LOL

I like the rain, it keeps everything green and when it's raining I have a good excuse not to do yard work!
It was very easy to get my concealed weapon permit.
You know I just received my Century Arms catalog and they had 30 year old AR15 kits for $469.87. WA state was one of the prohibited states for purchasing. That really gets me angry! I think it's a mistake because there's nothing illegal in the kit for our state. There might be a full auto FCG that I can't see in the photo?

Wow, that might be the case it probably includes the class 3 parts.
But you know who might have the answer for you? Ask Gray. He might know the answer to that.

Yard work is what I don't miss. When I lived in Bellevue, WA we had 7 maple trees at our back yard. I used to fill up 30 garbage bags filled with leaves.
