Hey I'm right next to you in Pleasanton and building my first AR. Sorry to change the subject, but what is the advantage of billet over polymer?Comment

Welcome. I grew up near where you live. Grandparents lived there until a couple years ago. My mom went to Granada High. Can't remember which school my high school sweatheart went to, but she was from there as well.Comment

I am guessing isn't billet stronger, spikes has a lower on sale for $99.00 st 15, their are so may I don't know who to get from.Comment

If you don't need billet, Irvington Arms has a good deal on Spikes stripped lowers. I got 2 out the door for $275. By the time you pay a dealer to bring it in for you, it is cheaper to buy it from them.Comment

If you're in livermore you're lucky. You have my favorite bay area gun store in your city. Visit J&R Sports and check out what they have in stock. They're good guys and will take care of you.
If you do some research you will see that almost all lowers are created equal. Just don't get a Hesse or Vulcan. The other parts you put on the gun are far more important than the lower.Comment

I wouldn't buy a stripped lower online. Usually after paying the transfer fee it ends up being the same price as you could have bought one from a store.
Is there any specific reason why you want a billet lower?Comment
-
actually I want one with the setscrew tensioner I think only the billet ones have it. also I found mega billet lower for $180 I am going to pick that one up.Comment
